Step 1: Create a custom audience
When it comes to retargeting, most advertisers have a list of customers who have already interacted with their business. In order to re-engage such customers with a new ad campaign, you will need to create a custom audience based on this list.
We recommend using a list of customers within Google Sheets, as this way it will be updated automatically whenever the new data is added. Please check out this article on how to create a custom audience.
Step 2: Build a saved audience
Once your customer list is ready, you can build a saved audience based on it. Besides you can use detailed targeting in order to define your audience by including/excluding demographics, interests and behaviours.

Step 3: Create a new campaign
Next, let's create a new campaign using the saved audience created in Step 2 using Bulk Creation.
💡Pro-tip: add a specific name tag, for example, “retargeting” to the ad set name, so that you could filter such ad sets later:
Step 4: Scale and optimize your retargeting campaign
Now, once the retargeting campaign is created, you can manage it using our automated rules. Just filter out such campaigns using “Ad set name contains retargeting” (or any other text in the ad set name that you added specifically for retargeting campaigns in the previous step) filter and scale/optimize them based on their performance:
For example, you can increase the budget of such campaigns by X% depending on their ROAS/CTR:
And that’s it! You’re now ready to launch and manage effective retargeting campaigns in Bïrch. By following these steps, you can accurately target your audience and optimize your marketing efforts for better results.
