Signals Gateway allows you to send first-party data to Meta (and other ad platforms) using a server-side tracking approach. Using Signals Gateway has been shown to decrease CPA by 23%, making your ad spend more efficient and maximizing return on investment. Learn more about all benefits here.
Step-by-Step Setup Process
Step 1: If you are new to Bïrch, create a Bïrch Account
Visit sign-up page
Complete the sign-up form and confirm your email.
Set up your company by providing your business details.
Already have a Bïrch account? Skip to Step 2.
Step 2. Create your first gateway
Go to the Hub section in Bïrch -> new gateway form will appear.
Name it, enter the location where most of your customers are based, and specify your primary website address:
Select data destination for tracked events - connect your Meta account
and select the dataset where you want to send tracked events:
Once connected, the Conversions API Gateway will be automatically configured for basic tracking. You’ll see this reflected on the Gateway page:
Step 3: Set up a custom tracking domain
To optimize data routing and improve signal quality, set up a custom tracking domain using a CNAME record in your DNS provider.
In the domain settings, note down the subdomain (you can customize it) and associated web address (your primary domain).
In your DNS provider, create a new CNAME record:
Type: CNAME
Name: Use the subdomain you chose (example: if you want to use
signals.yourdomain.com
, the Name should besignals
)Target/Value: Set to signals.boldu.tracking.
Save the DNS changes (propagation may take up to 48 hours, but typically completes faster).
Once the CNAME record is created, return to Signals Gateway and click Check domain status to confirm it’s active.
Click “Continue to Signals Pixel setup”
Step 4: Set up the Signals Pixel
The Signals Pixel is a lightweight code snippet that tracks user interactions on your website and sends data to the Gateway.
Just copy and paste the base code right before the <head> section of every page on your website.
Note: If you've already set up events using the Meta Pixel, you don't need to define them again. All your existing event configurations in Meta will be replicated through the Signals Gateway.
🔄 Now you have a full tracking system that relies both on Signal Gateway Pixel and Meta Pixel. This combination is the recommended for maximum accuracy of data.
Manage Gateway in Bïrch

And that's it - you've successfully integrated Signals Gateway with Bïrch. Now the tracking data is stored on your own server, and is seamlessly transferred to Meta and other destinations without any loss ⚡️
Advertisers using this setup see measurable improvements - for instance, CricksyDog reported a 30% drop in CPA after switching to Bïrch Signals Gateway.
