Understanding Timeframes in Bïrch

Learn how different timeframes work

Written by Team

In Bïrch, you can create rules based on metric values during different time periods. And here they are 👇🏻

Today: the timeframe starts at midnight (12:00 AM) at the beginning of the day and goes up to the current moment.

Yesterday: the full 24-hour period of the day immediately before today.

Today and Yesterday combines the two timeframes above - from the start of yesterday up to now.

Last x days: covers x full days immediately before today, not including today.

  • Example: If today is March 15, “Last 3 days” covers March 12, 13, and 14.

Last x days (Including today): includes today plus the previous (x – 1) days.

  • Example: If today is March 15, “Last 3 days (Including today)” covers March 13 up to now.

This week (Monday to Today) : from 12:00 AM on Monday of the current week up to the current moment.

This week (Sunday to Today): from 12:00 AM on Sunday of the current week up to now.

Last week (Monday to Sunday): the full week (Monday through Sunday) of the week immediately before the current one.

Last week (Sunday to Saturday): the full week (Sunday through Saturday) immediately before the current week.

This Month: from the first day of the current month (00:00) up to the current moment.

Last Month: the entire calendar month immediately before the current month (from its 1st day to its last).

Current hour: from the start of the current hour up to now.

Last x hours: includes the current hour plus the previous (x – 1) full hours.

  • Example: If it’s 5:42 PM, “Last 3 hours” spans 3:00 PM to 5:42 PM.

Previous hour: the full hour immediately before the current one.

  • Example: At 5:42 PM, that’s 4:00 PM–5:00 PM.

Hour before previous hour: The full hour before the “Previous hour.”

  • Example: At 5:42 PM, that would be 3:00 PM–4:00 PM.

And the last but not least, the custom timeframes. We made a video on it, check it out below.
